Greg Schoener, President, Owner and Founder of GWS Services, has spent the last ten years developing and implementing company-wide strategies to ensure the growth and effectiveness of GWS Services in the commercial construction industry. Through an association with over 60 of the leading General Contractors in the area, GWS Services is awarded over 100 contracts annually. Thus, making GWS Services one of Houston’s largest volume sub-contractors servicing the commercial middle market.
Greg, who has a BBA in Marketing from Sam Houston State University, has had an eclectic professional history that laid the foundation perfectly for the success of GWS Services. He began his career in medical field sales but when offered a promotion to Vice President of Sales in 2000, he declined the position and decided to uses his sales, marketing and negotiation skills with Upchurch Kimbrough, Houston’s largest commercial brick supplier. In this position, his knowledge in building materials, suppliers, construction techniques began to evolve and his ability to provide customers with the best quality products and superior service available were honed. Greg became a partner in Touchstone Building Products in 2001, a company which sourced and marketed new building materials to the design community. This added new facet to his ever-expanding repertoire of the construction business.
By 2006, he had sold his interest in Touchstone Building and was seeking new business ventures when he was approached by two construction developers requesting his assistance in the selection and installation of building materials. The lure of the commercial building business and a marketable idea drew him back into the sector.
An unusual career path had provided the perfect combination of industry knowledge, problem solving techniques and strong interpersonal skills to found GWS Services in Humble, Texas to serve the commercial market community. It is a company with a leader and employees who exhibit great integrity and are committed to providing customers with cost effective products and services without sacrificing quality or time.
